Wait staff and service was poor,along with poor food

Liberty has a large variety of wonderful breakfast and lunch choices as well as daily specials. They serve large portions of high quality food. Great family atmosphere and excellent service.

Cooked perfectly! Fast and friendly service! I usually have to order my bacon well done to make sure it's actually cooked. I forgot to tell them at this restaurant but they got it just right! Hashbrowns were liggtly brown and crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. Coffee was refilled before it was half a cup. I'll bring my family when they wake up.

Good family restaurant with a wide variety on the menu and friendly, efficient staff. Servers are friendly and come around just often enough. The pasta and baked goods, especially the pies, are excellent. Lunch meat sandwiches are a bit lacking, but when they put them in a delicious, flaky croissant it makes it okay. Soups are okay. Prices are reasonable. Not a great place to eat vegetarian.

Awesome spot for breakfast! Haven't eaten any other meal here. LOL. As good as the breakfasts are though, seems to me the rest would have to be good! 😁 Staff is courteous. Establishment is always clean......they're always crowded.....ESPECIALLY for breakfast!

Ordered fried chicken/ribs dinner. Salad was fresh but only contains lettuce. Baked potato, very good. Chicken and rice were cooked and hot. Not much flavor in chicken. Service was prompt and courteous.

Food wasn't great for the second time we ate there

Don’t be fooled by reviews like we were that make this place sound like the end all for breakfast. Restaurant was not busy yet 30 minute wait before food was served cold. Waitress never came back to check on us, for coffee refills, or forgotten syrup for my kids pancakes that got cold waiting in attempts of trying to wave someone down. It was just me, my wife, and 4 year old.... not a large table either. We will be spending our money elsewhere when we’re back in town.

We stopped in for lunch. Wasn't crazy busy but there were other patrons. We were in the area for a Quilting function and wanted to stop before our ride home. The staff was so friendly and polite! Our drinks, soups and meals were all perfect with no complaints. Thats huge because my MIL complains about something everywhere we go! Our food was so delicious. My daughter wants to come back again to bring her daddy. She says that he's going to love it. I would recommend this place to anyone nearby!

Food was ok.... food definitely seasoned for someone a little older. Restaurant cleanliness was poor but the bathrooms were almost unusable.

They have good hot tea and fluffy biscuits. They also have a really good Monte Cristo with French toast. I go there whenever I want breakfast.

The PlaceLiberty Family Restaurant is located in Peru, Illinois close to the intersection of Rt 251 and Shooting Park Road. There is ample parking in their lot and this restaurant is handicap accessible. Great for large groups or elderly patrons. The restroom are due for an update. Very much a family atmosphere... where everyone knows your name. Definitely one of the best or the best breakfast option in town.The Menu/FoodOverall the restaurant has a very complete menu. I've been here for breakfast many times and it is always good. The skillets are great and the omelettes never disappoint. The portion sizes are very generous. The Service/Experience/ValueThe service is friendly, efficient, and helpful. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The value is very good for the service and quality received. Highly recommend Liberty Family Restaurant.

Love this place

This is a family owned business that makes you feel welcome every time you walk in the door. They serve breakfast all day. Have great pork tenderloins. Homemade soups. Pies and cakes for dessert.

About a week or so ago,I left a tip & paid my bill but before I walked out I heard the lady doing the cash register say aloud to the waitress “did he tip you”!? In my book,that’s both inappropriate & bogus. I make plenty of money + I always tip. I prefer to tip in cash instead of it going onto my card. The food there is usually very good but I’m not going to shell-out good money and be made to feel awkward. I can eat anywhere I choose but the management really needs to clean-up their act.

Excellent food and very quick service. Home made blue cheese dressing is crazy good! We're there every week from the office. Very popular place and now I know why!

Been going here with my family for years. George and Tess are amazing people and it shows in their food and also the way their staff performs. Get the chicken fried steak breakfast, you won't be disappointed at any time of the day!

My mom, dad, and I went to Liberty after a long, last minute round of stores, for Christmas bargains. I'm from LP and I don't frequent the restaurant, but when my parents come to visit, they dine there quite a bit. Oddly...we all were craving gyros. Needless to say....BEST gyro I have had in a while. It's the real deal gyro, too. Cut off a rotisserie. The tzitziki sauce was amazing. Even the French fries were cooked to perfection. Liberty is now MY place to go for a gyro. My mom and dad said the food is always good when they dine there, so....I trust their opinion. Prices were fair, service was pretty good, cleanliness was ok. Bon appetit!!

Food was delicious, service is phenomenal and portions are large. Menu has alot of options! Turkey club deluxe with ranch side and kids menu cheeseburger with fries and xtra pickles! Definitely recommend

They need to add actual beef to their vegetable beef soup. Vegetables only. Had it multiple times. Kept hoping it would be better "The next time". Not all all. Still missing the beef!

Our breakfast food was good. The glasses of water had a chemical taste so I would avoid getting that. Service was excellent.

Good food, great service.

Stopped here for lunch one Sunday afternoon with my dad and daughter for a quick meal. The setting is humble but peaceful, and the service was standard. I ordered the baked ham special and it was average at best. My dad wasn't a fan of his gyro either.. Food is a little bland but portion sizes are generous. I'm not running back to this one.. but it gets the job done.

Food & Service was exceptional...

My wife and I ate dinner there and the chicken and the gyros are excellent. The service was the best around. We will always eat at Liberty Family Restaurant. The staff are excellent !!

This place had everything right..I had a House Omelet with Gyro meat, tomato, onions, and Feta.. I topped it all with Sausage Gravy. With American Fries and a pancake it was way more then I needed and I left enough to feed another person !! LOL. All these tasted great. The decor and fixtures are dated if that will detract from your enjoyment, but that is the only non-A+. Friendly, accurate servers, reasonable prices. Enjoy !!
